Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that aims to improve the image of the abdominal area by removing excess skin and fat and strengthening the underlying muscles.

It is aimed at people who have undergone significant changes in their body, such as pregnancy or sudden weight loss, and who experience sagging that cannot be corrected with exercise and diet.

Abdominoplasty at Vanity Youth is performed with absolute respect for the needs and safety of each patient.Dr. Georgios Papadimitriou and his experienced team combine scientific knowledge with aesthetic delicacy, offering natural and harmonious results.

If you desire a flat, firm belly that reflects your own effort and image, we are here to guide you with care and responsibility.

Medical Evaluation & Consultation Meeting

As with any aesthetic procedure, the first step is a careful and honest discussion with your plastic surgeon.Dr. Georgios Papadimitriou dedicates time to each patient to thoroughly explain the procedure, assess the abdominal area, and review the medical history. The goal is to ensure that the surgery is appropriate and safe for you.

Additional tests (such as blood tests, imaging, etc.) may be required before the surgery. A review of the medications and supplements you are taking will also be done to avoid any unwanted complications.

Preoperative Instructions

Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements that may increase bleeding.Stop smoking at least 2-4 weeks before surgery for better healing.

Realistic Expectations

Abdominoplasty offers significant improvement in the appearance of the abdomen, but it is not a weight-loss method. The changes are remarkable, provided realistic expectations are maintained and a stable weight is kept after the surgery.

Types of Abdominoplasty

There are different techniques depending on each individual's needs:

  • Full Abdominoplasty: Removal of skin and fat from the entire lower abdomen and tightening of the muscles.
  • Mini Abdominoplasty: Ideal for individuals with less sagging in the lower abdomen.

Extended Abdominoplasty: Suitable for individuals with significant weight loss.

Recovery

Full recovery may take several weeks. Swelling and mild discomfort are normal at the beginning. Return to light activities typically occurs within 10-15 days, while the final result develops gradually over 2-3 months.

Risks & Complications

Like any surgery, abdominoplasty carries risks, such as:

  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Worsening of scars
  • Thrombosis

Proper preoperative preparation and adherence to the surgeon's instructions significantly reduce the chances of complications.
